St Genie - Pouilly

Thursday night I travelled to the next nearest town, St Genie - Pouilly. Found a English Pub called Charly's where I tried a French Amber (nothing wrong with it) and washed it down with a Boddington's (very tasty). Then went across the street and had Thai food. The restaurant was run by a married couple, and I was the only customer. They spoke English! The food was delicious and we engaged in conversation for some time. Turns out their daughter just graduated from college and is about to leave for Philadelphia to pursue a Master's in fashion design. Here are some pictures of the village.

Patti arrived Friday and we went to Geneva, then had French food in the lovely Swiss village of Satigny. Next day we headed through the French Alps, the Mt. Blanc tunnel, through the Italian Alps to Neive, in the heart of the Piedmont wine region. Many pictures and stories to follow.

  1. What a small world! That couple's daughter could be going anywhere in the world and she is coming here (or nearly here).
